FAI - Fondo Ambiente Italiano (the National Trust for Italy) is a non-profit foundation which works tirelessly to protect Italy’s extraordinary cultural, artistic and natural heritage.
Founded in 1975, FAI is modelled on the National Trust of England, Wales and Northern
Ireland and promotes a culture of respect for Italy’s nature, art, history and traditions.
Every day, FAI protects a unique heritage that is an integral part of Itay’s cultural roots by
protecting, restoring, enhancing and opening to the public monuments and natural sites.
FAI is positioned to protect special places acquired by donation or bequest or granted to FAI on concession and make them accessible to everyone.
In addition, FAI promotes several communication campaigns with the objective of raising awareness of the importance of local heritage and participates in the national debate on environmental issues and cultural heritage.
